| PDT Engines, Inc. will need to capitalize to sponsor the "Little Engine That Can" racing team and begin work on a prototype engine. This will be done through sponsor donations and the sale of electronic newsletter updates. Sponsors of the PDT engine will have their logo added to the graphics of the "Little Engine That Can" X-Prize race vehicle, and a link to our sponsors' web sites will be added to the PDT site on the SPONSORS page. PDT is also accepting pre-orders for the first PDT Engines to help capitalize. Once the cash is available to begin creating parts, PDT Engines, Inc. will begin working with a machine tool company to product parts for a 223 hp diesel engine for use in testing and in the Progressive Automotive® X-Prize competition.
Once we have the test results, refinements to the prototype engine will be made and concurrent development of a 668 hp diesel engine intended as a bolt-in replacement for existing semi tractors will begin. As the company begins to realize a cash flow, 223 horsepower engines intended as bolt-in replacements to existing engines will be developed for cars and pickup trucks. The fuel type for this engine will be determined based on fuel technology and sustainability anticipated at the time of introduction. At this time were a decision to be made, it would be developed to burn e-85, but other renewable fuels may be introduced shortly that could alter that course of action.
Advanced Sales Order for the Jadon 668 PDT Engine
PDT Engines Inc. is expecting to begin manufacturing its Jadon 668 Diesel engine in the last quarter of 2009 – first Quarter 2010. At present fuel prices the Jadon 668 will deliver a payback in the first six to 12 months. Its quiet performance will be far superior to that of a reciprocating diesel and will deliver that performance with only a small fraction of the pollutants developed today. As a condition to entering the X Prize race we have committed to producing 10,000 engines within one year after the winning of the X Prize.
The demand will rapidly drive up the sales price of the Jadon 668 after the race. To get the ball rolling we are offering the first two thousand confirmed orders with 10% down at this initial low introductory offer. Lot purchases may warrant additional discounts.
At present fuel prices payback is projected to be about six – ten months (based on the average of 3000 miles per week at 6 MPG, @ $2.50 per gal. = $32,500 payback in 26 weeks of service)
The engine we are using in the X prize race will also be duplicated and made available for the public sometime in the second or third quarter of 2010. The X Prize engine system used in the race will develop 250 to 300 HP and is being developed to be a bolt in type replacement engine. It is going to be mounted in front of a special stick (standard) transmission for the X Prize race, however, can also be mounted in front of an automatic with some lesser economy, yet achieving well over 100 MPGe. The price for this engine is yet to be calculated, but is expected to cost “in the crate, on the floor” about $5-6000.00 ea.
